Ionic caps planed, jointed and staged for carving.

The carving begins with the Capitals placed upside down on the banker.

At this point the piece is almost completed on this side, the bottom side, and is ready to be turned.


Nylon slings are are used to turn the stone.

The initial part of the turn is achieved by using bailed "Excelsior."

Lewis pins are used when possible to lessen the chance of edge damage.
