The photographs on this page are mainly Indiana Limestone carvings modeled from original Iowa sandstone carvings.

Eagle relief carving early in the modeling stages, at this point most of the details are only drawn on.

This photograph shows the new panel from Limestone in front of the original Iowa sandstone carving.

This is the other relief carving with an Eagle.  Disregard the Celtic cross, it's not part of the Iowa Project.

The carving partially carved in Limestone.

all six panels on the West front were unique. Four had Eagles, but not of the same design.

Here's a photo of the other two panels.  Both have a shield but each is a unique design.

Over view of the carving department. The darker stones are the original Iowa sandstone carvings removed from the building for models.

On the left is an original sandstone carving from the Capital.  The round stone on the right is a Corinthian Capital, lower section only, ready to be carved.

We produced a dozen or more corner brackets like this one and several hundred single brackets.
